Company History

GTI Diagnostics was incorporated as a for-profit subsidiary of the BloodCenter of Wisconsin Research Foundation (BCWRF), part of the BloodCenter of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, in May 1985. The BCWRF provides blood products and consultative medical services, as well as offering clinical diagnostic testing and ongoing research. In July 2008, the BCWRF sold its interest in GTI Diagnostics to a private equity firm.

Gen-Probe purchased GTI Diagnostics in December 2010, adding more than 60 FDA-cleared and CE-marked diagnostic products for the coagulation, transplant immunology, and transfusion medicine markets to complement and expand the current LIFECODES product line.
