Company History
GTI Diagnostics was incorporated in Wisconsin in May 1985 as the for-profit subsidiary of The Blood Center Research Foundation (BCRF). BCRF is part of the BloodCenter of Wisconsin, a large community-based blood bank located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The BloodCenter provides blood products and consultative medical services, does clinical diagnostic testing and has a major research component. In July 2008, the BCRF sold its interest in GTI Diagnostics to the Riverside Company, a private equity firm located in Cleveland, Ohio, dedicated to building its portfolio companies through acquisitions and value-added growth. GTI Diagnostics is owned by management along with the Riverside Company.
Over the years, GTI Diagnostics has developed a variety of medical diagnostic assays for Transplantation (HLA), Blood Bank and Coagulation Laboratories. GTI Diagnostics is responsible for new product development (often working with the scientists in the BloodCenter’s research organization), manufacturing, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, marketing and sales of its products.
GTI Diagnostics is located in Waukesha, Wisconsin (a Milwaukee suburb), where it leases 28,075 square feet of laboratory and administrative space. Two-thirds of GTI Diagnostics’ employees have medical and laboratory backgrounds. We are an ISO-certified company and are registered with the FDA as an In Vitro Diagnostic Manufacturer.
